Packing Services in San Antonio, TX – Full & Partial Packing

Full packing, a partial pack of the kitchen and fragile rooms, or unpacking at the new place. The crew works from 11031 Perrin Beitel, San Antonio, TX 78217.

Packing services in San Antonio are the part of the move where the boxes get made, not the part where the truck gets driven. Half Price Movers packs houses and apartments from the San Antonio office at 11031 Perrin Beitel, San Antonio, TX 78217. You can hand off the whole home or only the rooms that break.

This page is for booking that work in San Antonio and the suburbs. The packing services overview covers both the San Antonio and Corpus Christi offices. If you want the longer explanation of materials and technique, read how packing works on a San Antonio move. Use this page when you are ready to put packing on an estimate.

Packing sits on top of the move you already chose. On a full-service move we bring the truck and can pack before it is loaded. On a labor-only move you rent the truck and we can still pack, then load what you packed and what we packed. Local moves across town use the same packers as a longer haul. For the longer haul itself, start with long distance movers in San Antonio.

Full packing

What full packing includes

Full packing means the crew packs the household and you are not building boxes after work all week. It is the right call when the date is close, when the house is large, or when you would rather spend the time on utilities, school records, and the kids.

  • Room-by-room packing with boxes labeled by room and contents
  • Kitchen, dishes, and glassware in the right cartons
  • Furniture pads and wrap so pieces are ready to load
  • Mirrors, art, and electronics protected before they hit the truck
  • A pack day scheduled before the load, not squeezed into the last hour

Partial packing

What a partial pack covers

Partial packing is kitchen and fragile only, or any short list of rooms you name. Most San Antonio customers pack clothes and books themselves and have us do the dishes, glass, and anything they do not want to replace.

What you should pack yourself

Keep the simple boxes. They do not need a specialist, and packing them yourself keeps the crew on the items that actually get damaged.

  • Clothes in wardrobe boxes or sturdy cartons — folded, not hanging loose in a trash bag
  • Books in small boxes so the carton stays liftable
  • Linens, towels, and pillows
  • Garage hardware and holiday bins you already know
  • Personal papers, photos, and files you would rather inventory yourself

Unpacking at the new place

Unpacking is a separate request. Some families want the kitchen and the beds opened the day the truck unloads. Others want every box broken down before the crew leaves. Say which one when you book so the unload crew is sized for it.

If you packed part of the house, we can still place those boxes in the labeled rooms and unpack only the cartons we packed. You do not have to pick one extreme.

How it fits the move

How packing fits labor-only and full-service moves

Labor-only means you rent the truck. The crew can still arrive a day early, or the morning of the load, and pack the kitchen before they start the furniture. You drive. We do not bring a second truck for a pack-only visit unless the estimate says so.

Full-service means the truck is ours. Packing is scheduled so the boxes exist before the load starts. On a long drive — Austin, Houston, Dallas, or farther — partial packing of the fragile rooms is worth more than it is on a two-mile apartment hop, because the cartons are handled more than once.

Either way, ask for a free estimate that lists the rooms, the stairs or elevator, and whether you want unpacking. A Monte Vista walk-up and a downtown loft with an elevator reservation are different jobs. Call (210) 796-6471 or use the free estimate form.

Where we pack

San Antonio and the suburbs we pack in

The packing crew is the San Antonio crew. They work the city and the nearby suburbs: Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Alamo Ranch, Helotes, Leon Valley, The Dominion, Shavano Park, Live Oak, Converse, Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City, Boerne, Bulverde, and New Braunfels. The office they dispatch from is 11031 Perrin Beitel, San Antonio, TX 78217.

Historic streets in King William, Monte Vista, and Alamo Heights often mean a longer carry and smaller cartons for tight stairs. Newer subdivisions on the north side are usually a straight driveway. Tell us which one you have. If you are leaving San Antonio entirely, pair this page with the long-distance service so packing and the haul are on one estimate.

Packing questions from San Antonio customers

Do you offer full packing and partial packing in San Antonio?

Yes. Full packing means the crew packs the home. Partial packing means they pack the rooms you choose, most often the kitchen and other fragile items, while you pack the rest. Both are booked from the San Antonio office.

Can you pack only the kitchen and fragile items?

Yes. A partial pack of the kitchen, glass, art, and electronics is the most common request. Dish packs, picture cartons, and padding for screens take technique that most households would rather not learn the week they move.

Do you unpack at the new San Antonio home?

Yes, when you add it to the job. Unpacking can be the whole house or just the kitchen and beds so the first night is usable. Boxes you packed yourself can still be placed in the right rooms.

What should I pack myself?

Clothes, books, linens, and personal papers are the boxes most customers pack themselves. Also keep medications, jewelry, documents, and anything you need the first night in a bag that does not go on the truck.

Can packing be added to a labor-only move?

Yes. Labor-only means you rent the truck and the crew loads or unloads it. Packing can still be scheduled before that load, either a full pack or a partial pack. On a full-service move the truck is ours and packing is scheduled around the load day.

Which San Antonio suburbs do you pack in?

The San Antonio crew packs across the city and nearby suburbs, including Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Alamo Ranch, Helotes, Boerne, Schertz, Cibolo, Converse, Live Oak, Leon Valley, New Braunfels, and The Dominion. If your address is farther out, ask when you request the estimate.

Are you licensed for the move the packing is part of?

Packing is part of a household-goods move. For moves that stay inside Texas, Half Price Movers holds TxDMV license NO. 006080743C. You can verify that registration with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. If the move leaves Texas, ask which carrier will haul the load and check that carrier's USDOT number on the FMCSA site.
